Welcome

The indepdendent party which always asks 'what's best for South Woodham Ferrers'

Ian Roberts and Keith Bentley

Our Journey

We formed in 2010 as a group of residents who think that South Woodham Ferrers deserves better representation after years of being looked at as a 'safe bet' town by the main parties, often losing out to other parts of Chelmsford for funding and opportunities.

Two years later residents voted us on to Chelmsford City Council.  We went on to gain two seats in 2019 and came a close runner up in the 2021 Essex County Council  election. In the 2023 elections, the main parties put up more local candidates, perhaps as a result of our influence, taking away some of our vote, although we increased our vote in the South of the town. We currently have no sitting councillors but we continue to campaign and raise awareness of local issues, such as housing and outdoor facilities, and are building up to the Essex County Council elections in 2025 and the Chelmsford elections in 2027.

Let us know if you can help us.

Keep up to date and tell us if you think there is something we should be talking about
